Police say drunk driver was on her way to a “girls night out.”

http://www.myfoxdfw.com/dpp/news/Alleged-Drunk-Driver-Kills-Two

http://www.wfaa.com/news/local/Mom-toddler-killed-in-crash-with-suspected-drunk-driver-109585159.html

We see it all the time in Dallas and Fort Worth.  Drunk drivers, driving erratically and running red lights.  A mother and her 2 year old daughter were killed early yesterday afternoon by a drunk driver who T-boned her car going nearly 60 miles an hour!  I cannot stress enough how driving drunk is dangerous, life threatening and never acceptable.  I can sit here all day and promote my limo company as a replacement for your group, but, honestly I don’t care if you use our company, another competitor, a cab service or a designated driver, as long as you do not get behind the wheels after drinking.  You are not only putting your own life in danger, but the lives of MANY others!

We all say it will never happen to us, we are invincible, and that may by so, but what about that 2 year old girl?  This drunk driver now has to live with the fact that she KILLED that 2 year old girl, just as if she would have put a gun to her head and pulled the trigger.  Are a few bucks worth it to be a “responsible” adult and ensure that you have a safe way getting home?

Don’t let this happen to you!  If you EVER are at that point where you have drank and are under the influence, please make sure you have made prior arrangements and don’t get behind the wheel!

A quick Limo Joke I wanted to share with everyone!

After getting all of Pope John Paul’s luggage loaded into the limo(and he doesn’t travel light), the driver notices that the Pope is still standing on the curb.
“Excuse me, Your Eminence,” says the driver,
“Would you please take your seat so we can leave?”
“Well, to tell you the truth,” says the Pope, “they never let me drive at the Vatican, and I’d really like to drive today.”
“I’m sorry but I cannot let you do that. I’d lose my job! And what if something should happen?” protests the driver, wishing he’d nevergone to work that morning.
“There might be something extra in it for you,”
says the Pope.
Reluctantly, the driver gets in the back as the Pope climbs in behind the wheel.
The driver quickly regrets his decision when,
after exiting the airport,
the Supreme Pontiff floors it, accelerating the
limo to 105 mph.
“Please slow down, Your Holiness!!!”
pleads the worried driver, but the
Pope keeps the pedal to the metal until they hear sirens.
“Oh, dear God, I’m gonna lose my license,”
moans the driver.
The Pope pulls over and rolls down the window as the cop approaches, but the cop takes one look at him, goes back to his motorcycle, and gets on the radio.
“I need to talk to the Chief,” he says to the dispatcher.
The Chief gets on the radio and the cop tells him that he’s stopped a limo going a hundred and five.
“So bust him,” said the Chief.
“I don’t think we want to do that, he’s really important,” said the cop.
Chief exclaimed, “All the more reason!”
“No, I mean really important,” said the cop.
The Chief then asked, “Who ya got there, the Mayor?”
Cop: “Bigger.”
Chief: “Governor?”
Cop: “Bigger.”
“Well,” said the Chief, “Who is it?”
Cop: “I think it’s God!”
Chief: “What makes you think it’s God?”
Cop: “He’s got the Pope for a limo driver!”

7 Truths about Limousine Service…..

1.  A limo is a limo is a limo, right?

WRONG!  There are all types of “limos.”  From Sedans that may only fit 3 passengers and mainly does airport transportation to 30 passenger limo buses.  There are your so-called traditional limo, the Lincoln Town Car which can vary from a 6 passenger stretch up to a 12 passenger super-stretch limo.  Then, you have the exotic, unique limos, such as Hummer limos which also can range from H1 Hummers, H2 Hummers and even the smaller H3 Hummers.  There are Chrysler 300 Limos, Dodge Charger Limos, Escalade Limos and so on and so on.  Make sure you know what your getting before spending your hard earned money!!!

2.  ”I booked a limo and it was supposed to be new, I got some old beat up limo with chipping paint and TUBE televisions!”

This is the oldest trick in the book by unscrupulous shady limo operators.  Keep in mind that when you book a Lincoln Towncar, Lincoln has had the same looking model since 1998!  The so-called NEW limo you booked might indeed be a 12 or 13 year old limo!  So many new features and technological advances have come over the years and you just might be stuck with an old, beat down limousine.  BEWARE!

3.  So, after calling 20 different limo companies, you finally found a limo for $60/hr.  Great deal huh?

NO!  Have you ever heard the old adage, you get what you paid for?  Look, the cheapest guy was cheapest for a reason.  Either he has garbage limos and is selling you a 13 year old limo, or he is what we in the limo industry refer to as a “gypsy.”  An unlicensed, uninsured guy who was able to put some money together to buy a used limo and rent it “on the side.”  Do you really want to put your family/friends in danger and behind the wheels of a “illegal” operator just to save a few bucks?  I know that when it comes to the safety of my family, a few extra dollars is nothing compared to the peace-of-mind that comes with choosing a reputable, responsible company.

4.  If you are provided limo service in Texas and are charged taxes, you are getting ripped off!

In the great State of Texas, limousine rentals are considered a service and are non-taxable.  If someone is charging you taxes, they are just “adding” to the hourly rate to make it appear his rate is lower than his competitors.  Don’t fall for it!  Call Heaven On Wheels or anyone else who wont rip you off!

5.  All Chauffeurs can drive, but not all drivers can be Chauffeurs.

Being a Chauffeur is a profession, not a side gig.  It means going above and beyond to please the client and be a cut above the rest.  It means providing quality service, meeting the clients requests at all times, getting to know the clients and what type of newspaper they read and what kind of coffee they like and having it ready for the client at the time of pickup.  It means carrying a spare sewing kit in his/her briefcase during weddings or proms, JUST IN CASE.  It means being knowledgeable of the area and how to get around traffic.  It means they have passed a rigorous background check and defensive driving courses and have at least three years prior experience.  It means always driving as if our passengers in the back have on a wedding dress and are drinking red wine!  That’s why Heaven On Wheels hires and employs only Chauffeurs, not drivers.

6.  There are Limo Companies, and Limo Brokers…..stay away from the brokers!

In the limo industry, limo brokers are what I call, lone sharks!  They advertise all over the internet, a lot of times with great professional looking websites and entice customers to book a limo through them.  The then take the money from you, the customer and sell your “lead” or “job” to the local limo company.  A lot of times, those guys are not in the same city or even State that you are in.  They are merely middlemen with no knowledge of the business or even area.

7.  BEWARE STOCK PHOTOS

While surfing the website looking at limousine companies, beware stock photos.  Stock photos of limos are a clear indication that they don’t actually own those limos.  More than likely they are limo brokers trying to sell you on a “type of limo” but do not actually own the limo they are trying to sell.  Look for high-def pictures of the outsides/insides of actual limos.  Look at the background in the picture, does it look like your city?  Is it airbrushed?  Do the company have youtube videos of the limos?  Better yet, are they open during the week or by appointment for you to stop by the shop to actually see the limo in person?  Great questions to ask!

Rangers in the World Series!

So it’s finally here!  For all you fans who said it will never happen, it has!  Rangers are the new ALCS World Champions and are headed to the World Series in San Francisco for  Games 1 & 2, then come home to Arlington to play Games 3, 4 and 5 if necessary!  Needless to say, you don’t have to be a baseball fan around here to notice all the red shirts and “antlers” people are wearing.  Baseball has finally become the talk of the town and the Cowboys football talk is on the back burner.  Even on a week when the Cowboys play a MUST-WIN game here at home during a Monday night football game.

Rumor has it that Josh Hamilton and Cliff Lee will be recruited and playing for the New York Yankees by next year!  Do you think so?  Tell me what you think below, but if loyalty and even team loyalty mean much, money shouldn’t make a huge deal, right?

Anyways, either way, Heaven On Wheels has some awesome World Series package deals for all Rangers home games.  Call us at 214-676-1906 for some great Dallas Limo deals!

Good luck Rangers, make Texas proud!!

Rangers in the World Series? Take A LIMOUSINE!

While I don’t want to jinx the Texas Rangers, but they are just ONE game away from winning the ALCS and heading for the first time to the World Series!  With so many people going to the game, there is bound to be some transportation issues and questions on the best ways to get to the game!  Arlington does not have a public bussing system like DART, so the only way for people to get to and from the Rangers game will be via private car, cab, or limo.  If you are reading this blog, I am sure I already don’t have to pitch Heaven On Wheels as a great form of transportation with impeccable vehicles and professional chauffeurs.  I don’t have to say how our chauffeurs know the best routes to get to and from the game or that taking a limo to the Rangers stadium is by far the best way to go!  But I will :)

Anyways, before we get to the World Series, the Rangers still have to win one more game against the New York Yankees.  Game 6 will be played in Arlington tomorrow night.  If you need any transportation to and from the game, call Heaven On Wheels, we can get you there for as little as $135 each way in one of our limos or for as little as $95/hr if you would like our limo to wait.  Give us a call! We also have our non-stretch SUV’s if you want a lower-profile ride to the game.

GO RANGERS!!!

Top 10 Frequently Asked Limo Questions – Limo FAQ

Top 10 questions asked by customers when they reserve a limo:

1. What type of service do you provide?

A. Whatever you need a limo for, we provide airport limo service, car service, proms, quienceanera limos, nights out on the town, bachelor/bachelorette parties, Cowboy games, all sporting events, weddings and much more! If you can think it up, we can do it!

2. Your party bus says it seats between 18-20, can we fit more, even if we just stand up?

A. No, unfortunately we can’t.  Our limousines are regulated by City and State regulations and all vehicles have a “maximum” number of passengers.  If we do not follow the maximum number of passengers and there is an issue, we could be held liable.

3. What is your minimum hourly requirement and why can’t I just book a limo for one hour Saturday night?

Our minimum hourly rentals are 3 hours during the week and 4 hours on Fridays and Saturdays for all limos after 5pm.  Retail limousines (party-type limos) mainly go out on Fridays and Saturdays and is really the only time the limos make money.  There is also a lot involved in preparing a limo for a rental, including making sure the car is spotless inside and out, cleaning glasses, filling the limos with drinks and the time for the Chauffeur to pick up the vehicle early enough to be at your pickup location on time.  One hour is not enough, plus is tying up the vehicle for someone else who might want it for a night out for a larger number of hours.

4. What is provided when I rent a limo from Heaven On Wheels?

We provide an impeccable, exotic limousines, professional chauffeur licensed and insured and in the limo we provide enough sodas, water and ice for all passengers.  We also leave one of the coolers in the larger limousines only full of ice so that if you decide to bring your own drinks, you can use one of our coolers.  Each limo is equipped with a surround sound system, tv’s, dvd/cd player and i-pod connection.

5. Can I bring my own alcohol?

Absolutely, as long as everyone in the limo is over the age of 21.

6. My daughter/son want to rent a limo for Prom/Homecoming.  How can we ensure they are not drinking underage?

Our Chauffeurs are all trained professionals who value their credentials and licenses as well as understand that, while in the limo, they are the only adult chaperone.  For all underage events such as Prom or Homecoming Limo Rentals, our “privacy” partitions are locked in the DOWN position so that the Chauffeur can, at all times, keep an eye on the minors.  If at ANY time they are caught drinking, parents are called and all kids are taken back to the pickup location.  We cannot tolerate any underage drinking or smoking of any sorts.  You can feel confident when you trust your children to Heaven On Wheels for their special occasion.

7. What is your cancellation policy?

All deposits paid at the time of booking are non-refundable.  If an emergency has arisen, we may, at our discretion, apply all money paid to another date.  If there are changes in the booking, i.e. time, location, group size etc. we can usually accommodate your requests if we can.  If you wish to cancel within 14 days of the event, the full amount is charged.

8. I can find limos for $80-$90/hr, why should I go with your more expensive limos?

Our limousines are unique and exotic limousines in the Dallas Fort Worth area.  From our Chrysler 300 “Godfather” limousine lowered to the ground with black rims to our H2 Hummer “Goliath” with 24″ rims and two tone blue and black paint, our limos are one-of-a-kind!  In a sea of limos, all Hummers look almost exactly alike, ours stand above the rest.  Also, you never know what you are going to get with an $80/hr limo.  Town Car body styles haven’t changed much since 1998, so someone could be advertising a “newer body style” Lincoln Town Car and could really be sending you a cheap old limo.  ”You get what you pay for” is an old but very true adage.

9. Is tip for the chauffeur included?

All of our prices are plus 20%.  We do add this to the cost the same as a restaurant adds gratuity for larger groups.  It is very easy for the Chauffeur to be forgotten at the end of a big night and we want to make sure all of our Chauffeurs are well taken care of because they provide exceptional service.  All other fees are included in our price.  If for any reason, you feel the Chauffeur did not deserve the gratuity, please let us know, however this has never happened.  We give you the option to add it to the credit card charges or pay it in cash directly to the driver on the day of.  Either way, the entire amount goes to the driver and we do not hold or keep any of it.

10. I want to book a limo but it is so expensive!  Do you have any specials?

Of course!  Weekdays are or slowest times of the week so we usually have some pretty good weekday limo specials starting at only $287 for 3 hours of limousine service in our Chrysler 300.  We also run Monthly Limo Specials.  Also keep in mind, that for the number of passengers that fit in a limo, the total price can be divided between all the passengers evenly.
